Ergodex DX1 system   (06/26/2005)

Ergodex DX1 system is a customizable keyboard that allows you to place removable keys anywhere you want and assign the buttons to anything you want, making it quicker, easier to use and simpler to remember than a standard keyboard.

The active area of the DX1 measures just over 9 1/2" x 6 1/2". A series of removable keys are then situated within that area, anywhere you want. Each key has its ID number on it, letting you know which key is what in the configuration software. The DX1 comes standard with 25 keys, numbers 1 - 25 obviously, while a set of keys numbered 26 - 50 are available for purchase separately, giving you up to 50 configurable keys for any one setup reports IGN. The keys have an adhesive surface, once attached, they're set in place pretty firmly. The instructions say that to clean the keys you should just use a moist towel and wipe them clean.

  DX1 INPUT SYSTEM
The DX1 Input System includes a Pad, a removable Tray, 25 numbered Keys with a storage tray, preprinted labels, an installation CD and a Quick Start Guide.

THE DX1 PAD
The Pad connects to the computer via a USB cable. The pad contains two buttons. The button next to the Ergodex icon brings up the software at a single touch. The second button is a Record Button, which allows Macros to be assigned to Ergodex Keys.

  THE DX1 TRAY
The removable Tray provides a surface for the placement of the Keys. The Tray is washable. And because it is clear, templates or skins can be placed beneath it to suggest key placement.

THE DX1 KEYS
Each DX1 System comes with 25 numbered Keys. The Keys have an adhesive surface that allows them to be firmly attached to the Tray. Although the adhesive surface provides a strong bond, Keys can be moved by twisting them. If the adhesive surface becomes dirty it can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Because Keys can be moved, you can design input configurations to match unique geometry of your hand. In addition, Keys can be arranged in functional clusters or “logical neighborhoods.”

Keys can be assigned single or multi key Macros. DX1 Keys can be assigned blocks of text and can also launch web sites.

PRE-PRINTED LABELS
A set of pre-printed labels comes with every DX1 Input System. Also included is an installation CD which contains the software to power the DX1 Input System.

GeForce 7800 GTX Sets Gaming Speed Records (06/26/2005)
Our first tests of NVidia's new speed demon show some impressive performance gains. Packed with just over 300 million transistors, NVidia's latest high-end graphics chip, the GeForce 7800 GTX, is one of the most complex processors ever designed. And our tests of a reference board built around the new chip indicate that it's the fastest graphics board we've ever seen.
